Spiced Cocoa Nuts Recipe
You’d never guess these holiday treats are sugar-free! During the holidays we can’t help but come across an avalanche of chocolate and sweet treats galore. Resistance is futile, basically impossible and unavoidable. The solution is go with a healthier and natural alternative that will taste good and you won’t have to resist having some.
Here’s the recipe for my Spiced Cocoa Nuts!
INGREDIENTS:
- 1 egg white
- 2 tbs high quality cocoa powder
- 3 tbs of xylitol
- 1/4 tsp Vanilla
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
- 1/4 salt
- 1/8 tsp. ground cloves
- 1 cup of each- raw unsalted almonds, cashews, and hazelnuts
DIRECTIONS:
- Preheat oven at 325 F.
- Line a large cookie sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, whisk egg whites for at least 30 seconds until light and foamy.
- Add cocoa, xylitol, Vanilla cinnamon, salt, and cloves, and whisk together until smooth.
- Stir in nuts until all are well coated.
- Spoon nuts onto prepared cookie sheet in a single layer.
- Bake 7 minutes and stir nuts. Bake an additional 7 minutes. Be careful not to overcook or they will scorch.
- Allow nuts to cool completely and break them up. They will harden as they cool.
You can purchase a Glass jar that and decorated and give this as a nice gift. Especially a health nut will appreciate.
