Spice Things Up and Try This NEW Protein Packed Treat

Tis the season to spice things up and change your usual protein packed sweet treats! Try this one using Fitness Pro Vanilla Whey Protein!

 

INGREDIENTS:

  • 2 tsp cinnamon
  • 3 tsp ginger
  • ½ tsp nutmeg
  • ¼ cup ground chia
  • 1 egg
  • ½ cup unsweetened apple sauce
  • ¼ cup dark agave nectar
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 2 cups dry oats ( I like the old fashion ones )
  • 2 scoops Fitness Pro Vanilla Whey ( Can also use chocolate flavor )

 

DIRECTIONS:

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.  Spray large pan with non stick cooking spray ( the smaller the pan the thicker the bar. I like a traditional size pan about 11″ long)
  2. Combine all dry ingredients (oats, protein, cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg and chia seeds.)
  3. In another bowl combine all wet ingredients (egg, apple sauce, agave nectar and vanilla)
  4. Fold liquid mixture into the oats until the dry is completely covered by the wet mix.
  5. Transfer mixture into the casserole dish; ensure oats are spread evenly in the dish.
  6. Put in oven for 20-25 minutes until they begin to harden, be cautious to not overcook.
  7. Remove from oven and allow to cool for 10-15minutes,
  8. Cut into 12 small bars before the dish while they are cooling.
