Secrets to a Successful Show Prep
Prepping for a show can be very challenging, especially when you have other priorities like work and family, but planning ahead is the key.
First thing I make sure I do is jot down all things I need to get done for each and every day. Starting my day really early allows me to finish prepping before heading to work.
I get up at 4:30 am everyday. Before I finish getting dressed I apply my AB-FX on my midsection and my hamstring and glute area. Then I take my BCAA 5g , Glutamine 5g, and L-carnitine 1000mg with water. I fill up jug with water and off to the gym to do some cardio. When I’m done, I go home and I eat breakfast. Breakfast is 5oz of Bison meat with 3oz of white rice and other days it’s sweet potato. When I’m done with work I go weight train. Before weight training I once again apply my AB-FX and BCAA, Glutamine, and L-leucine. I do alternate doing cardio in the evening and weight training in the morning to changes my routine. After I’m done eating dinner I dedicate about 20 to 30 minutes to cook and prep all my meals for at least the next 3 days. I cook chicken, Bison, tilapia, I steam some green beans, bake some sweet potato, white rice, and get all my supplements for the day. All my food is measured and placed in separate containers. I take usually 3 to 4 meals to work daily. Supplements include Vit c, fish oil, cla, Vitamin d, vit A and E, and probiotics.
When I’m dieting I get cravings which makes it tough since you can’t just eat anything. I have sugar free jello, popsicles, and sugar free Amino Chewables that I pack with me just in case I get cravings. I also have tea and coffee with Stevia and sugar free creamer to stop the cravings. Lots of water through out the entire day with some BCAA and glutamine between my meals.
I practice my posing a little bit ever single day while also taking progress picture every single week. This allows me see the changes by body is making. A lot go into prepping for a show, but it can be a lot of fun.
