Nutrition Store Owner’s Daughter Has Hit Everything But Rock Bottom!

Muscle Foods USA retail customer Van Carlucci of Rock Bottom Nutrition in New Jersey has an ALL-STAR daughter named Natalie!

Natalie Carlucci hit a three-run homerun for Albright to lead the Lions to an upset victory (4-3) over Messiah in Game One of Saturday’s double-header. Messiah evened the series in Game Two, winning 5-3 behind three hits from Courtney Allen.

The Albright College softball team handed Messiah its first Commonwealth Conference loss of the season, in a split at the Albright Softball Field on Saturday.

Rock Bottom NutritionNatalie Carlucci and Katie Civitello led Albright to a thrilling 4-3 victory in game one. Carlucci was 2-for-2 with a three-run homer, and Civitello went seven innings while scattering seven hits and three runs.

Carlucci spurred each Albright rally in the game, including a three-run HR in the bottom of the first after Shelby Snyder and Civitello had singled.

Carlucci led off the fourth with a walk, and Albright loaded the bases with no out following a Marguerite DeLucas bunt single. Messiah got Jackie Bohanan to fly out and strikeouts from Aubrey Koch and Nicole Bartron to end the threat however.

Carlucci also led off the sixth inning and singled. Freshman Alex DeQueiroz pinch ran for her and scored on an error to make it 4-1 Albright.

Civitello retired seven straight batters at one point, in the 2nd-4th innings.

Messiah rallied in their final at-bats, as Nicole Blantz singled in Sara McKee and Sydney Boreman doubled in Krista Ammon. Boreman and Blantz were on second and third with just one out, but Civitello got Amanda Jones (on a bunt) and Brooke Pompeo to ground out back to the mound, clinching the win.

Carlucci also homered in the second game, a solo shot to lead off the sixth inning. She was 1-for-2, while Snyder was 2-for-4 with a solo home run.

Albright led 2-0 in the first after Snyder homered and Jalene Garcia scored on a passed ball. Messiah broke things open with five runs in the top of the fifth.

Civitello tied a school single season record with her 19th complete game of the season, allowing five runs and 10 hits in the loss.

Courtney Allen was 3-for-4 with two RBIs in the nightcap for Messiah, while pitcher Claressa Mees struck out seven batters.

Congratulations Natalie Carlucci, somehow we have a feeling the supplements from Rock Botton Nutrition haven’t hurt!
